Intersociety Showcase

Tonight (March 21st) DCU Drama are putting on an intersociety showcase, with Drama performing scences from some up and coming shows like The Vagina Monologues (on this Thursday, March 24th) and our big musical "Back to the 80's". We'll also be showing some of our acts from earlier in the year, like the winner of our X-Factor event, and the winners of Stars in their Eyes.

The showcase takes place in the Venue at 8pm and tickets are only €3, with all proceeds going to charity.

Vagina Monologues

This week we will be putting on the much anticpated Vagina Monologues. For anyone who has never heard of the vagina monologues, they are momologues of different accounts from different women, and the experiences they have gone through. Some monologues are angry, some are sad, and some are side splittingly funny. The Vagina Monolgues will be taking place in the Theatre of the Helix at 8pm on Thursday, March 24th. Tickets are €10 for students and €15 for non-students, with all proceeds going to charity.

Happy Families Auditions

There will be another set of auditions for the smaller scale musical Happy Families, on Thursday 10th, at 6.30pm, in The Clubs and Societies Meeting Room 2. Here's a list of the characters and a small description of each character

DAD:Middle-aged. Still handsome. Kind.

JASON: 16 years old. Tall. Athletic.

ALFIE: (girl) 17 years old. Very pretty. Small

MAM: Middle-aged. Still pretty. Kind.

GUBNET: Mam's sister. Older than Mam. Bitter. Nasty.

TINA: Alfie's friend. Teenager.

RICHIE: Alfie's boyfriend. Teenager.

For the audition you are also asked to sing a song of your own choice.

This year for the IDSA festival we have put forward 2 different shows. They are: The Waiting Room Constructive Insanity For anyone who wants to go to see Constructive Insanity, it'll be on Thursday March 10th, in The Bank of Ireland Theatre in Galway at 11am.
