Malcolm Bolton

2011 - 2012

Hey Everybody. Names Malcolm. I'm a third year Enterprise Computing student, as well as DCU Drama's webmaster for two thousand eleven!!!

I'm here to keep everyone up to date on current and future events and workshops which DCU Drama is preparing for the next year.

I first got involved with DCU Drama during the New Writers Festival last November. At the first AGM in October, I felt very much out of place. However, when I heard about the New Writers Festival, I leapt at the oppurtunity to get to know as many people as possible and I've never looked back since!! Then, in January last year, I decided to audition for a role in DCU Dramas 2011 musical "Back to the 80's." While I didn't expect to gain a role, I was euphoric when I was told that I'd earned the role of Alfred Bueller. The rest, as they say, is history!!!

Since becoming Webmaster, it's become my goal to preserve as much of DCU Drama's history, while advancing the sites technically capabilities as much as possible! Twas a bit of a labor of love, let me tell you!!!

Getting involved in DCU Drama has pretty much been one of the best decisions I've made in my college career ( well, apart from coming to DCU, of course!!!)

For those of you out there who are new to DCU, I urge you to give DCU Drama a chance. There are some truly lovely people in this society, who are willing to help if you would only ask!!!

So get out there, get involved and make some noise!!!!

Oisín Kelly

2010 - 2011

Hey I'm Oisín Kelly, I'm a 3rd Year Computer Applications student and I'm this year's webmaster.

I've been involved with DCU Drama since first year, my first show being the 2008 panto "Snowfinger", playing Becky Campbell, the Welsh cross dresser, followed by "Twelfth Knight," playing Molvolio, and then the musical "Rent" in the Helix.

Last year I was in the panto again, and took part in the "Please Talk Festival" in a one act. I was also one of the Assistant Producers and Webmaster for the 2010 musical "Hair".

And even before coming to DCU I was involved with drama, I was in a Speech and Drama school from 1997 until 2007, and performed in loads of shows over the course of those 10 years, and at one point I was in a show for the 2006 Wexford Festival Opera. When I'm not updating the drama website, I'm off with my mates, both the ones from home, and the one's I've made in college.

I'd have to say that being in Drama was a very good choice I've made in life, right up there with when I bought Coco Pops over Rice Crispies and bringing wellies to Oxegen.

And I'll finish with a quote from a game I love:

"Embrace your dreams, and whatever happens protect your honour."

If you would like something added to the website or have any suggestions/ideas for the society in general let me know. Take care of yourself and be good!

Ed was involved in numerous primary and secondry school plays before he came to college. Last year he was cast in four productions.
