Oisín Kelly
2011 - 2012
Hi everyone, I'm Oisín Kelly, and I'm the secretary this year, and hopefully in September, I'll be a final year Computer Applications student!
My job on the committee is to organise committee meetings, take attendance, take the minutes and send out the weekly e-mails to our members. And like my predecessor, I'll try to be the committee's right-hand man, if there's any jobs people need help with, I'm there to help. And if anyone has any questions or problems, they can ask me anytime.
I'm originally from a small sea-side village in Wexford, and have been involved with Drama since I came here in 2008, and even before that, I was in a Drama school in Wexford from 1997 until 2007. I've done a fair few shows since I came here, the first was the 2008 panto "Snowfinger", where I played a Welsh cross-dresser, then there was Twelfth Night, followed by DCU Drama's most successful musical "RENT". Then the 2009 panto and a small show for the "Please Talk Festival".
Last year I did more production jobs, like backstage manager for the panto, producer for an I.S.D.A show and production manager for the musical "Back to the 80's".
I'd definitely say, that coming to DCU was the best decision I've ever made, since I've been here, I've made unreal friends and had so much fun. I was the webmaster for last year's committee, and it was one of the best times of my life, there was so much laughter, a few adventures, and just generally good times. I'm really looking forward to trying to make this year brilliant and to working with some of the soundest people in DCU to do so, so hopefully, y'all will have as good a year as I had last year. "Embrace your dreams"
Olivia Hughes
2010 - 2011
Hi my name is Olivia Hughes and I am your secretary for this year.
I'm in Contemporary Culture and Society, final year, which makes me so sad because I do not want to leave DCU, and more importantly DCU Drama!!! I am originally from England but have lived in Cavan for the last 11 years, so if you're wondering where the funny accent came from (unfortunatley not Australia), now you know!! :)
I only really got actively involved in DCU Drama last year, but it changed my DCU life!! I have made so many great friends, and been invloved in some amazing productions. My job on committee is basically to organise all the meetings, make sure everyone can attend, set the agendas and record everything said. I am also the committee's right-hand woman, so really any jobs people need help with, im there to lend a hand and do my bit.
Im very friendly and approachable, so if anyone does have any problems or queries, don't hesitate to drop me an email, or even come up to me on campus, I promise won't eat you!! :)
This year, myself and the committee are really trying make DCU Drama an amazing experience for you during your time at DCU.
Never be afraid to audition or get involved because you just never know what it might lead to!!
Maeve McQuillan
2009 - 2010
Hey y'all, I'm Maeve, I'm a third year Communications student and I'm this year's Secretary! It's my job to organise committee meetings, prepare agendas and minutes for every meeting, chase people up on meeting topics and generally be a thorn in the rest of the Committee's side!
Like anybody else on committee, I contribute to the general running of the society, so if any members have any concerns or questions about all things Drama, they can email me! I'll try my best to make it AWESOME.
Previous involvement: Stars in their Eyes, Aladdin, Vagina Monologues, Epic Quest of Clyde, FAME!, Snowfinger, RENT. DADAs: 07/08: Nomination Best Costume (Stars in their Eyes), Stormtrooper Award. 08/09 Nomination: J-Lo Award (RENT), Best Costume (RENT).

I am looking forward to any challenges this year will bring and hope we can make DCU Drama even better than last year. Please don't hesitate to contact me about secretary-related matters.
Last year Sineád took part in Stars in their Eyes, The Epic Quest of Clyde and Fame the musical for which she won "Best over-exposure" for her portrayl of a stripper at the DCU Annual Drama Awards (DADA's)- an award which she says holds a proud place in her home!
