Jamie Harrold

2011 - 2012

Hey. The names Jamie and I'm the current Public Relations Officer for DCU Drama 2011/12. I'm going into my second year of the general wasters program; Communications (B. A.- for real?) and loving every second of life at DCU!! As P.R.O. for the society it's my job to promote all your lovely faces around campus!:) and to basically let the college know what drama events are going on around campus- workshops, shows, guest speakers, etc. The main way of doing this is through posters and flyers, but I'm also planning to run a big viral campaign with videos posted through facebook and youtube with the help of a newly appointed Drama promotions team- more about this later at the EGM in October!

I spent the majority of my time with Drama last year and have made some great friends from getting involved in the various shows and events the society organizes as well as the usual mischief that goes along with the notorious after show parties -its not a drama party til someone's been arrested/the ceilings caved in/a polish man with a bat is standing outside the front door at 4am...... Last year I was involved with many of the societies shows- I was Michael Feldman in the 2011 musical "Back to the 80s" and had a supporting part as the doctor in the 2010 Panto "Lil Red Riding in the Hood". I also worked on some of the smaller events planned such as the workshops that culminated in the New Writer's Festival. It was a great experience to work together with some wonderful people on shows that you put all your efforts into creating something to entertain or captivate an audience.

I would seriously recommend any first years who might be interested in joining drama this year to go all out for it! There will be so many events planned for this season of drama to appeal to all ranges of actors, performers, directors, writers, tech and stage management peeps. Don't let shyness or lack of experience stop you from getting involved this year! There'll be lots of opportunities to get involved what with the shows, plays and the many workshops and acting/comedy classes organized throughout the year that are just deadly craic- where else can you go to make a total clown of yourself, make new friends all the while having great fun? And ask questions!, no matter how stupid you might feel they are- the more you learn about how everything's organized in this mad and wonderful hub that is DCU, the quicker you'll get to grips with everything the college and society has to offer for you. Any of the committee members or 2nd/3rd year students are more than happy to answer questions about how we run shows, etc (cept maybe conor hillman- avoid the englishman at all costs if you can)

So whatever your interest in theatre or acting or just general malarkey you'll find a home at DCU Drama, Peace out dudes!!

Niall Kelly

2010 - 2011

I'm Niall and I am DCU Drama's amazing Public Relations Officer (P.R.O).

Basically I'm the liaison between the committee and the general student body. I am in charge of producing all the unusual and quirky posters for the year. I'm involved in anything that helps to publicize Drama. I have acted in last years Panto "Once Upon a Time" and currently playing Walter in this years panto "Little Red Riding in the Hood".

I once went on a double date with Ellie Goulding and Jesicca Alba, speak 27 fluent languages and have a black belt in life so dont hesitate to approach me with any inquiries or anything like that!

Hey lovelies, I am Blaithin, your PRO-vocative PRO for this year. As PRO I organise posters and every other aspect of promotion. I am in 2nd year Multimedia and I come from the Land of Lakes (That's Cavan for those of you who don't know!).

I have been interested in drama from a very young age. When I came to DCU I joined drama straight away. I was First Year Rep last year and was involved in the LOAFS (Lovely One Act Festival Show), the Panto and RENT, the musical. This year I plan to be WAY more involved.
