Dallan Shovlin

2011 - 2012

Dallan Shovlin (singer, dancer, actor!) is this year's External Liaison Officer (E.L.O. to all you cool cats.)

It is his job to liaise with representatives from other colleges, make contacts for the future of DCU Drama and organise our part in festivals (such as the ISDA's) and intervarsity events.

Expect to find him dabbling in almost every production this year, both onstage and off. Dallan has a strong background in drama. From leads in amateur productions of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, The King and I and Return to the Forbidden Planet. His debut with DCU Drama was as the villainous Mr. Wolf in last year's DCU panto Little Red Riding Hood. Dallan hung up his wolf feet in semester two, when he donned the incredibly short shorts of William Ocean High's Vice-Principal, Mr. Stevie Cocker, in last years DCU musical Back to the 80s.

Dallan is very proud to serve on the committee of a society which at the very heart of DCU student life and which, this year, is putting forward a staggering amount of new events, plays, workshops and drama of all shapes and sizes.

If you see Dallan skulking around campus don't be afraid to approach and talk about the exciting year ahead. He really wants to meet you (in a creepy way!)

Sarah Hutchinson

2010 - 2011

Hey HEY my name is Sarah Hutchinson (aka hutch) and I am your ELO (external liaison officer) this year.

My job involves liaisoning with other colleges and organising the ISDA's(Irish Student Drama Awards) which take place in 2nd semester where a number of plays from DCU Drama are put forward to the Irish Student Drama Awards. I also communicate with the other colleges to see how their societies are getting and what their plan is for the year.

I am in my last year studying Education and Training and am devastated to be leaving college this year. I have been extremely involved with drama since 1st year 2008 where I was part of our successful musical RENT which was absolutely amazing and won a place in the Olympia theatre that summer!

<

In second year I became involved with Panto "Once upon a time" where I played the part of the witch and loved it! Later that year I took part in productions such as: The Vagina Monologues, and "HAIR" the musical where I played one of the main parts called "Jeanie".

This year is jam packed with loads and loads of productions so please please PLEASE get involved!!! It doesn't matter if you haven't had previous experience I guarantee you will have the time of your life, meet so many new friends and gain so much experience.

On a final note GET INVOLVED...yiz are all wetyokes :) xxxx

Hi guys!!!

I'm a third year multimedia student here in wonderful DCU however some may say I'm a drama student.(",) I've been involved in drama since a very young age taking the lead role of Annie at the tender age of seven. Before DCU Drama I was highly involved in the Roscrea Musical Society along with starring in my secondary school's infamous productions. (Ursuline Convent- girls had to take boys parts:( ugh !) It is my job to communicate with other college drama societies across Ireland and I am also DCU's representative on the ISDA(Irish Student Drama Awards) council. Along with communicating with other college societies, I also correspond with the various different societies within DCU itself. I can't wait for another fun packed Drama year...Join DCU Drama!!!
